Tonight’s freestyle interpretive dance to Minnesota’s Confusion was pure play.
No processing. No digging. Just movement, sound, and being in my body downtown.
The track’s heavy, warped bass and dreamy breakdowns created a push and pull that felt energizing and fun. I let curiosity lead. I improvised, reacted, and stayed loose.
This was not about working through anything tonight. It was about autonomy, joy, and creative expression for its own sake.
Dancing in the rain in a public space.
Sober. Present. Grounded.
Getting weird. Being silly.
Free as a bird from my old patterns.
A reminder that recovery also gets to be ecstatic and enjoyable.
Sometimes movement isn’t medicine.
It’s just living.
